Description


The Hallberg Rassy 36 is a popular, well proven offshore cruising yacht designed by German Frers. Beautifully built by Hallberg Rassy, they enjoyed a long production run from 1989 to 2003 with over 600 being built and have stood test of time well. This good example is a Mk II with the integrated bathing platform.

Located under the cockpit in insulated compartment, Volvo MD22 four cylinder 57hp diesel engine. Electric start. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Shaft drive to three bladed feathering propeller. Rope cutter. Single lever control. 345 litre fuel capacity in two stainless steel tanks giving approximately 500 mile range at 6 knot cruising speed. Maximum speed under power 7 knots. The engine was last serviced October 2019.

Construction


Built by Hallberg Rassy in 1997 to a design by German Frers. White GRP hull with dark blue sheer stripe. Rubbing strake. White GRP superstructure with teak laid deck. Teak toe rail. Long fin keel with lead ballast. Skeg hung rudder. Wheel steering. Centre self draining cockpit. Teak laid cockpit sole and seating. Teak pushpit seats. Bathing platform. The hull below the waterline has just been stripped and re-antifouled.

Accommodation


The layout offer six berths with two double sleeping cabins separate from the main accommodation. There is excellent stowage and plentiful ventilation with opening portlights throughout. In the forecabin, V berth with infill and stowage under. Opening hatch to foredeck. Separate heads compartment to port with marine toilet, shower and washbasin. Hanging locker opposite. In the saloon, two settee berths. The seat backrests lift up to provide wider berths in port and extra stowage whilst at sea. Fixed table with drop leaves. Opening hatch to deck. Chart table to port with chart stowage under and plenty of space for pilot books. Galley to starboard. Twin stainless steel sinks with hot and cold pressurised water system. 310 litre freshwater capacity in stainless steel tank. Hot water is heated by the engine, Webasto heater or mains immersion heater. Optimus two burner gimballed gas cooker with oven. Refrigerator. Walk through aft gives good access to the engine space and leads to the owner's cabin aft. Large double berth to port, with settee berth opposite/. Opening hatch to deck. Hanging locker. Webasto diesel fired hot air central heating. Fitted carpets. Radio/CD player.
